Oktoberfest

Seit 20. September läuft das Oktoberfest in München. Alle Welt strömt hin, und man kann sich einfach nicht dagegen wehren. Essence hat schon fast eine Tradition im Herausgeben der thematischen Aufkleber. Aber diesmal habe ich was von den Stamping Schablonen dabei: nämlich MoYou Tourist collection 16, mit dem eigentlichen Thema "Berlin".
Ich musste mich sofort an ein Buch erinnern, wo es stand, dass 90% der Klischees über die Deutschen stammen aus Bayern und sorgen für Ablehnung bei den 90% der Deutschen aus anderen Bundesländern. Und sieh da: auf der Platte sind Lederhose und Dirndl, was ein absoluter Stereotyp aus Bayern ist. Nun gut, genug geredet.
Dank dem Klischeedenken aus London habe ich fast alle Komponente für das perfekte Oktoberfest:

Die Raute im Hintergrund ist in rosa gehalten (essence 106 free hugs), weil eine Freundin von mir eigentlich ein Design für ihr Dirndl-Outfit wollte, und das Kleid hatte rosa Blümchen drauf. Ihre Nägel waren für diese riesigen Klamotten-Bilder zu klein, da mussten wir uns mit Aufklebern trösten, aber für mich habe ich die Stamping-Decals gemacht. Weißwurscht und Brezn dürfen freilich auch nicht fehlen. :)
Es wäre nicht schlecht, wenn man noch passende Sprüche als Stamping oder Aufkleber hätte, denn mit der Hand sie zu schreiben ist echt eine Herausforderung.
Eigentlich war das nur eine Übung, ich wollte das nochmal ordentlich machen. Leider habe ich keine Zeit mich damit zu beschäftigen...

Inspired by phone case

It's time for inspiration by your phone case.  Actually I've got a boring phone case (only one colour and a logo), but I have also another one. Last winter I was in my home town and discovered a really nice shop which is called "Шерстяной шкаф" ("Woolen closet"). You can find it here and on their blog there are many pictures of their products. I couldn't help but buy this pink phone case!

So, and here we are with a pink base (essence 106 free hugs) and added some sponged other pink shade to imitate the colours of the case. Then I stamped with different plates:
Konad m70 - yarn-like pattern;
Cheeky CH2 and CH7 - single flowers;
Bundle Monster BM-313 two little flowers
MoYou Mother Nature 07 - leafs.

I painted the snap freehand...

And added some glitter:

Essence Love Letters

Essence has released the new limited series: Love Letters with nail polishes, even with one new stamping polish!  Also there is mattifying paper among some other products.

And a new stampy set. I already have two of essence "stampy sets" and didn't wanted another one, but the stamping plate was worth it.

Lets see, what I could do with the Love Letters.
"Background" text is from Bundle Monster BM-405. Other images come from the new essence plate. The images are stamping well, what is not always the case for essence plates. Dark gray stampy polish works also perfectly.

Some images are like "stamps" on envelops: they have "worn" edges. I stamped them also with a violet polish by Ives Rocher, which looks like stamp ink.

dodo Glam Nail

Hello!
Here we are - one of the polishes I've bought in Japan. Meet dodo Glam Nail. The maker doesn't bother to give interesting names to their shades, so it has got only a number: 490.
The polish is light pink with golden shimmer. It's very translucent, I've painted three coats, and still my nails weren't covered completely.

Вось я дабралася і да выпрабавання лака, які я купіла ў час падарожжа па Японіі. Знаёмцеся,  dodo Glam Nail. Вытворца гэтага брэнду не заклапочаны выдумленнем гучных назваў для кожнага колеру, таму лак атрымаў толькі нумар 490.
Лак вельмі празрысты, светла-ружовага колеру, з вялікай колькасьцю залатога шымеру. Я бы нават казала, што колер ружова-залаты. Я нанесла тры слаі, аднак лак не здолеў цалкам закрыць пазногаць.

The other drawback is a relatively long drying time. I smudged the nails, as they were all dry in my opinion.:(

Яшчэ адзін мінус - доўгі час на прасушванне. Нават калі я была ўпэўнена, што лак мусіў быць сухім, змазала некаторыя пазногці. :(

On the positive side is the colour itself.
The shine of golden particles is seen most in the artificial light.

Да плюсаў можна аднесці колер лака.
Бліск найлепш бачны пад электрычным святлом.

I guess, the tender pink with gold may be popular among Japanese girls, because it's girly and cute.

Мяркуецца, што японскія дзяўчыны любяць такія пяшчотныя і адначасова бліскучыя колеры, таму што яны дзяўчачыя і чароўныя.

Winter Thermo

This time we were testing a thermo polish by Dance Legend. My sister was here again with her nails. The shade number 176 is lilac or purple in a "cold state". The shade is matte without any noticeable shimmer.

I stamped with essie Nothing Else Metals the swirly images from MoYou Pro 14. For the accent nail  I took white colour and MoYou Pro 06.

And if it's warm the polish turns to bright pink! 

If the air temperature is on level to keep only the free nail edge cool and you have warm hands, you get some gradient like this.

Anyway you can play with the polish by cooling and warming your hands.

Merge or Melt

Day 21 of the Laid Back 31 Day Challenge - Merge or Melt

It had been explained that everything is suited for "merge and melt" if it's like gradient or other techniques with colour mixing. I like gradients :). First I did a simple gradient with essence 106 free hugs, IsaDora 629 icy purple and Yves Roches 42 Violet electrique. 

And then I added glitter polishes also like gradient (glitters above are light pink and glitter at the nail edge are purple).

Texture

Day 20 of the Laid Back 31 Day Challenge - Texture

Unfortunately I already did some texture polish for the "favorite polish" and I am going to write about new polishes launched in april, which are textured again, so I didn't want to repeat myself and looked into downs of my nail art boxes. I found there Japanese 3D nail sticker I've got from a friend of mine who was often enough to Japan before 3/11. The stickers are really voluminous and stand out and above your nail plates.

First I painted my nails with white polish by essence floral GRUNGE Lily Bloom (but basically it could be just any other white polish). Then I sponged different pink and purple colours over the base. I added a whitish spot on each nail to the places where branches were supposed to be. I painted the branches with grey and brown acrylic paints and let them dry. And then I added the stickers and golden glitter. Here I didn't use top coat yet.

So, and this is a final product cleaned up and covered with top coat.

Here the stickers are seen a bit better, and how they rise over my nails. :)

And that much polishes were used for sponging and decorating:

Does this design remind you of sakura and so on? One description for these stickers says there are plum flowers. Anyway it is the very time to get spring feeling with blossoming trees.

Bunny Love

Easter is over and everything is sold for half the price at least. How couldn't I buy these cuties? Two sweet golden bunnies and a pink heart made of the finest Lindt chocolate are framed by a nice box with flowers and butterflies.

I felt the urge to recreate this design on my nails. The base is essence floral GRUNGE Lily Bloom. Then I painted the heart with a pink metallic polish (IsaDora 629 Icy Purple looks exactly like pink foil). Because I wanted the bunnies filled with colour I did them like stamper decals.

On my thumb and pinkie I stamped various floral and butterfly patterns from essence and cheeky plates with the same pink and golden polishes.

The next step was to paint the golden border on the nail tips. I set pink and golden dots between the thin and thick golden parts. And a top coat over all.

Duo chrome, flakie or holo

,Дзень восьмы павольнага выпрабавання на 31 дзень. Тэма - дуахром, слюда альбо галаграфік.

Laid back 31 DC, Day 8 - duo chrome, flakie or holo.

Кажучы праўду, не ведала, што "flakie" азначае "слюда", таму і абрала галаграфік. Я купіла аднойчы два галаграфічных колеры ад  Pupa, і аддала блакітны сястры. Ружовы мае таксама моцны галаграфічны эфект. Галаграфічныя лакі "Пупа" не празрыстыя і таму ужо адзін пласт даволі добра закрывае пазногаць. Два пласты выглядаюць проста болей удала.

To tell the truth I don't know what is meant by "flakie", but holo was anyway my favourite option. Once I bought two of Pupa Holographics, but the blue one I gave to my sister. Pupa Holos are quite opaque, even one coat may do. But two coats look just more smooth. They also have a remarkable holo effect.

Просты колер гэта нудна. Таму я выпрабавала паверх яго шаблон  Cheeky CH6. А паверх стэмпінгу яшчэ дадала топ з бліскаўкамі. Каб мала не здавалася. ;)

As I considered the pure colour as not that special, I tried the Cheeky plate CH6 over it. And some glitter top over stamp. :)

Favourite Colour Family

Day 6 of the Laid back 31 days challenge. My favourite colour family is purplish-rose, like antique pink.

I chose a shade of intense dusk pink by alessandro "Dramatic Blossom". Unfortunately my camera wasn't able to depict the colour exactly. This two pics were the closest to the original.

For the accent nail I used striping tape and another polish by alessandro "Midnight Rebel" which is purple with shimmer.

Pink

It's too late again, but here we are: 12th of February with pink.

It's practically Valentine's Day, so pink and some hearts are predestined to be on my nails. I used the essence polish from the series "hugs & kisses" Sugar Baby Love. I' am not sure, how do I get the right shade of pink/red etc. polishes with artificial light, any suggestions?

And of course there are hearts with glitter, rhinestones and tiny pearls ("caviar"?).  Some reviews on these pearls stated that the pearls tend to get off the nail. I am curious how long would they stay on... I sealed them with Seche Vite, although I liked the look without sealing more. The pearls had their own texture and matte shine.
